A year after beginning an exploration of Chekhov’s pivotal and groundbreaking play, Adult Film is excited to present SEA GULL, a new original translation and fresh adaptation of the play that redefined theater.

  • Mia Vallet

    NINA / Producer

    Mia is an actress and producer based in New York City. New York stage credits include originating the role of Celia in Ashville at The Rattlestick Playwright’s Theatre and playing Mary Shelley in Mary Shelley Frankenstein at The Signature Theatre. Her work on camera includes surviving explosions (NBC, Blindspot), heroin overdoses (Starz; Hightown, MTV; Eye Candy), fire tornados (NBC, Believe) aggressive FBI interrogations (NBC, The Mysteries of Laura, Allegiance), 19th century firearms (Freeform, Stay) and chaotic female rivalries (Little Bunker Hill, Delusion). Mia has a BFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She is a company member and frequent performer at Adult Film (27 Wagons Full of Cotton), and The Brooklyn Center for Theatre Research (Childdeathsong, By Morning, Winter Journey). She is the co-creator and lead actress of the upcoming short film Human Resource.

  • Ryan Czerwonko

    KONSTANTIN / Director

    Ryan Czerwonko is the artistic director of Adult Film, where he acts, directs, and teaches. With guest starring and recurring roles on NBC's "The Endgame", "Chicago Med", and "Chicago Fire", Ryan has also appeared in "Cherry" (AGBO Films), "Paint" (IFC Films), "The Deuce", and "Watchmen" (HBO), among others, working with directors like The Russo Brothers, James Franco, Nicole Kassell, and Roland Joffe. Recently, he was in Ariana Grande's music video for her song "Yes, And?", and has worked on stages across the country at George Street Playhouse, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, First Folio Theatre, and more. Upcoming: "The Electric State" (Netflix), directed by the Russo Brothers.

  • Megan Metrikin

    ARKADINA

    Megan Metrikin was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa and completed her theater studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Since moving to New York, she has written and performed two solo shows Elephantwoman and Finding Fellini, which won “Best Solo Show" at the Midtown International Theatre Festival and “Best Actress” at the United Solo Festival. Finding Fellini was performed at Theatrelab, La Mama, The New York Fringe and Frigid Festival. Megan also performed the Leading role in Sophiatown, designed by William Kentridge, which toured internationally. She worked extensively at Johannesburg’s Market Theater where credits include The Dybbuk, Flight, Speed the Plow, The Tempest, Cowboy Mouth, Hamlet, La Ronde, Exit the King, Love Story in Maputo, Kalldewey Farce, Tooth and Nail (Handspring Puppet Company) and The Lulu Sex Tragedies. Megan worked for several years in Cape Town’s experimental Glass Theatre Company. Credits here include, The New Modernist Play, 12 Hour William Blake, The Duchess of Malfi, More Mysteries of Love and the Dark Continent. Her film work has included performances in Shot Down, which won best film at the Mannheim film festival and The Howling Part IV.

  • Chris Ryan

    TRIGORIN

    Chris Ryan is an NYC-based actor & director. TV/Film acting includes: The Narrows, FBI, American Horror Story: NYC, The Blacklist, Dementia 13, Kid Prosper, & (upcoming) Paul & Greg & Amelia. Theater includes: Macbeth (Orlando Shakespeare), Shakespeare in Love (Capital Rep), Cymbeline (NY Classical), The Chekhov Dreams (Theater Row), Picture Ourselves in Latvia & Frisky and the Panda Man (NLTP), Twelfth Night (Westport Playhouse), The Great Gatsby (Alabama Shakespeare), The Tempest (Bread Loaf Theater), Salome (The Flea). Directing includes: Tape, Bachelorette, Down the Road, Common Addiction (GoodBadGroup). Chris grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Stanford University where he majored in English & Creative Writing. He also earned an MA in English from Middlebury College.

    Ellie Mae Miller (Paulina) is an actor, writer, & plus size model. She holds a BFA in Theater Performance from Ohio University. Recent: God Of Carnage (Roaring Epiphany), The Wind Telephone (Rising Sun Theatre Company), Lake Play (Rising Sun), Elizabeths (Manhattan Repertory, United Solo). Film: Tonight We Fuck the Trailer Park Out of Eachother (Adult Film), A Murder Party (Angeline Productions). Currently: writing new works, modeling for artists, being a craft beer connoisseur, and having three boy cats.

  • Simon Fortin

    SORIN

    Son and grandson of Canadian actors, Simon Fortin trained at the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique du Québec, then at Drama Studio London. A member of both American and Canadian Actors’ Equity for the last 40 years, he has acted and sung in more than 80 professional stage productions in Canada, England and the United States. In Canada, he received many awards and distinctions: three best actor awards at the Prix de la Culture, one Felix award from the ADISQ, and many other nominations including The Dora Award for Best New Play in Toronto, and Best Actor in a Musical at New Hampshire Theater Awards (as Tateh in Ragtime). He has appeared in numerous television shows and films. His creative work has benefited from multiple grants from funders including The Canada Art Council, Quebec Cultural Affairs Ministry, La Ville de Québec, and The Quebec Delegation in New York. He is the author of several plays and television dramas produced in both French and English and published in English and Romanian. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC/Radio-Canada) has produced and aired six of his works. In 2005, he received an MA in Shakespeare Studies from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. Then he obtained a doctorate degree in English (Renaissance Studies) for his dissertation Dying to Learn, Learning to Die: The Craft of Dying in Early Modern English Drama, from City University of New York, Graduate Center.

    Christopher Jon Martin is a Los Angeles actor who finds his new home in New York. He has worked in Television and Film with roles in “Imprisoned” with Laurence Fishburne, “Shot Caller”, “Kings Faith”, “Best Friends Forever”, “Cherry Crush”, “See”, “Sons of Anarchy”, and “CSI”. On the stage in “The Gospel According to James” (Victory Gardens Theater), “ How I Learned to Drive”, and “The Tempest”.

    Rob’s excited to be playing with Adult Film for the first time. He recently wrapped the lead role in the feature film “Concessions” and will be heading to Alabama Shakespeare Festival this June.   • Lauren Gugliemello

    Lauren is an actress, writer, and producer based in New York City. She trained at The Theatre School at DePaul University and Roy Hart Centre in France. Lauren is excited to be collaborating with AF again, previously playing Mrs. Keeney in Eugene O'Neill's short play, Ile. Most recently, Lauren was seen in how would you like me to atone? at The Brooklyn Center for Theatre Research. Other NY theater credits include: The Pool at The Tank, The Den (reading) at Walkerspace Soho Repertory Theatre, Crow Play, New York Fringe Festival, and Bloody Poetry tour: Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland), Walcott Chapel Arts (Bath, UK) Festival OFF d’Avignon (France), Sekrit Theatre (Austin,TX). Additionally, she performed at Lifeline Theatre, Redtwist Theatre, and Mary-Arrchie Theatre in Chicago. Lauren is an artistic associate of Invulnerable Nothings Company and was a resident at the 2023 Barn Lab, where she devised a solo piece that is currently in development. Phases of the Moon, her short film, premiered at LA Femme Film Festival in 2020 and garnered official selections. Masha is dedicated to Tanya Berezin.

  • Peter Rinaldi

    Peter Rinaldi is an award-winning director, writer, and host of Filmmaker Magazine’s Back To One podcast, where he talks to actors about their work, which has inspired him to get back into acting. He made his stage debut last year in Frances McClain’s play “Triage.” His most challenging role to date is “Peter Rinaldi” in Caveh Zahedi’s series “The Show About The Show.”

    Brad Porter is an NYC-based filmmaker with 15 years experience as a director and cinematographer of feature films, experimentals, commercials, and interdisciplinary theatrical productions. He received his MFA from Chapman University and has taught filmmaking to undergraduate students at universities in Michigan and England for eight years.     Ethan Navarro is an actor based in New York City.
